According to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, their mission is to: protect our air, land, water, and mineral resources; preserve our unique natural and historic places; and provide recreational and learning opportunities; while promoting the environmentally sound and energy-efficient operations of businesses, communities, agriculture, and industry for the benefit of all Missourians.

You can celebrate National Trails Day by taking a hike on one of the great trails that Missouri State Parks has to offer. Hiking events are happening at state parks and historic sites all over Missouri.
