Literacy Guide

AdLit is a national multimedia project offering information and resources to the parents and educators of struggling adolescent readers and writers. They are an education service of WETA, the flagship public broadcasting station in our nation’s capital.

They define full functional literacy as the ability to read, write, communicate in English, compute, solve problems and use technology in order to be a self-sufficient member of our community. Includes assessments, classes, tutoring, resources and more.

You can find a collection of recommended literacy resources and information for parents, adults, children and teens, and professionals. These resources can help you on your journey of learning more about literacy, but don’t know where to begin.

Literacy Source is committed to providing free, accessible, high-quality adult literacy programs. Whether it's learning to read, write, or speak English, obtain a GED, prepare for citizenship, or gain digital literacy, they offer classes that learners need to obtain their goals.
