Map Guide to Parish Records in Great Britain

History & Genealogy at St. Louis County Library has holdings for church records in Great Britain (England, Wales, and Scotland). Library sources include  baptisms, marriages, burials, and mortcloth records. Church locations represented in the collection can be viewed as a Google map. Where possible, the actual church where the records were recorded has been pinpointed. If the church was destroyed, such as those destroyed by the fire of London, extended efforts were made in identifying the church's original location in order to locate the pin on the spot where the church formerly stood.  In a few rare cases, a church was not located and a pinpoint marks the local town or village. Each church identified on the map lists the source of records (sometime multiple sources) associated with the church, including book call numbers, Family History Library film numbers, or in some rare instances, identifies the source as a microfiche.

Scottish memorial transcription books

Scottish monumental transcription books include inscriptions on other monuments to the dead, including tombstones, memorial plaques, war memorials, and church monuments. While some inscriptions are brief, many are lengthy. The following is a bibliography of more than 450 transcription books held by the History and Genealogy Department.
