LEGO Mindstorms is a hardware and software package children use to develop programmable robots using LEGO building blocks and a Scratch-based app. LEGO Mindstorms was discontinued in December 2022, but the product can still be purchased through third-party vendors.
LEGO Spike is a new programmable robotics system for students. Similar to the older Mindstorms, learners create robots with LEGO bricks and bring them to life through introductory programming. Younger students use block coding, while older students are introduced to Python.
LEGO Mindstorms and LEGO Spike are designed for users ages 6+.
