From the National Library of Medicine, this scholarly article studied the way "Life skills" have been analyzed in the academic literature. They observed that much of the research heretofore focused on children and adolescents. They focused their efforts on the way life skills support the successful transition from adolescence to emerging adulthood. They pointed out that "much of the research on life skills development in emerging adults is mostly limited to vulnerable populations." In addition, "transfer of life skills between contexts has received virtually no attention at all. It is concluded that life skills development and transfer in typically developing emerging adults are understudied and future research needs to develop a framework to address this gap."
