Community Connections
The St. Louis County Library partners with a number of community organizations in the St. Louis Area to provide innovative programs and services:
After School Meals - Operation Food Search will provide after school meals at five branches.
Blood Pressure Kits - Use your library card to check out a blood pressure kit to monitor your blood pressure. Kits provided in partnership with the American Heart Association.
Born to Read - The Born to Read program provides new parents at participating hospitals and clinics in St. Louis County with a bag containing a book and early literacy information, as well as other items.
COVID-19 test kits from the St. Louis County Department of Public Health are available at nine branches. Kits can picked up at the circulation desk during regular library hours.
Diaper Distribution - St. Louis County Library is partnering with the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank to provide families in need with a supply of diapers and training pants for children ages 3 and under each month at select library branches.
Gun Locks - Gun Locks from the Lock It for Love program of Women’s Voices Raised for Social Justice are available upon request at select branches. The locks are free of charge and come with information about safe firearm storage.
Narcan Kits - Free Narcan kits are available at all 20 library locations. The kits are provided through a partnership with the St. Louis County Department of Public Health.
Period Supplies - Flow kits from the St. Louis Alliance for Period Supplies are available at select branches. Each free kit contain 20 period supplies.
Social Worker Services - Social workers are available at five branches to provide free one-on-one advising and assistance to connect patrons with vital resources and referrals to service providers in the community. Assistance on a wide range of topics is available including: childcare, housing insecurity, food insecurity, medical assistance, domestic violence, mental health, parenting resources, senior resources, and substance abuse.
Tap in Center - St. Louis County Library is partnering with several justice involved organizations to provide a Tap In Center for individuals to get legal assistance and connect with local support services.
