Introduction

Many free, educational materials and programs exist on the web, but not all are of high quality. The first box contains links to the accredited, online K-12 programs available through the Missouri public schools. Please see your school district's website for more information about registering through your home district. The next box contains links to high-quality supplemental learning sites for K-12 students, and the final box contains links to the official test prep sites for the SAT, AP tests, ACT, and HiSet. Note: There is a fee for the official ACT test prep program.

Robust, free coding web program for K-12 students. Students can learn to make their own games and apps as well as learn how to code using blocks, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and more.
Coursera
Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are free online courses that cover a range of topics. Coursera offers courses from universities all over the world in a wide range of subjects. Some Coursera courses are suitable for motivated high schoolers. Courses can be taken for free. Pay to receive credit.
edX
Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are free online courses that cover a range of topics. edX offers courses designed by some of the top universities in the world and includes AP courses, programming, and many other subjects. Many courses are suitable for motivated high schoolers. Courses can be taken for free. Pay to receive credit for courses.
Khan Academy
Created by experts, Khan Academy’s library of trusted, standards-aligned practice and lessons covers math K-12 through early college, grammar, science, history, AP®, SAT®, and more. It’s all free for learners and teachers.
PBS Kids
Offers educational games and activities for young children.

Test Prep

ACT Test Prep
ACT test prep from ACT. Offers synchronous and asynchronous courses as well as tutoring and test prep books. This is not a free service.
Khan Academy/SAT/AP Test Prep
Created by experts, Khan Academy’s library of trusted, standards-aligned practice and lessons covers math K-12 through early college, grammar, science, history, AP®, SAT®, and more. It’s all free for learners and teachers. Note: College Board directs students to Khan Academy for their official SAT and AP test prep.
