Excel Adult High School

St. Louis County Library offers adults the opportunity to earn a nationally accredited high school diploma online through the Excel Adult High School program. Find out more about this program here.

We provide a limited number of scholarships to qualified adult learners who are looking to expand their career opportunities, prepare for workforce entry or continue their education. If you’re interested in sponsoring a scholarship, please contact the St. Louis County Library Foundation at foundation@slcl.org.

To be considered for the program, applicants must successfully complete an online self-assessment and prerequisite course, followed by a scholarship interview.

The support services team at Excel Adult High School will be with students every step of the way. If academic support is needed, students can schedule time for live, unlimited online tutoring. They also offer career and college planning, which includes the opportunity to jump-start a college degree by taking up to seven college-level ACE (American Council on Education) courses for free. These credits can transfer to many accredited colleges and universities nationwide. Students will be given up to 24 months to complete the program.

Please contact excel@slcl.org for more information.

Computers, Internet, & WiFi

Computers & Internet Access

Computers are available for persons of all ages. A current library card in good standing is required to access a computer. Visitors may provide appropriate identification and request a guest pass to use a computer. All computer users must agree to abide by the Computer Use Policy.

Most library computers guarantee users a 60-minute session. When no waiting list exists, customers may continue using the computer as long as needed, or until such time that there is a waiting list. We do not accept advanced reservations. Computers are assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Individuals who are on the waiting list will have five minutes to occupy an available computer before their reservation is canceled.

Wi-Fi with a Boost

All branches are equipped with free, high-speed internet. We also have technology at all locations to boost Wi-Fi signals outside the branch buildings.

Chromebooks

Chromebooks are available for in-library use. Simply bring your library card to the circulation desk and ask a staff person for assistance.

Branch Computer Labs

Several branches have computer labs. When not in use for classes, they are open for general use.
