The following resources are some of the area shelters in operation in the St. Louis area as of December 2022. Start Here is a good general overview of community resources including shelters and housing assistance.

Most emergency shelters and other housing programs require an intake process.

There are three main ways to get a referral in the St. Louis area:

Call the Homeless Hotline shelter referral agency at 314-802-5444.
Call the United Way at 2-1-1.
Stop by the St. Patrick Center Welcome Center, open Monday-Friday from 8:00-4:00 at 800 North Tucker Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63101. Lunch is served seven days a week at noon.

Our Lady's Inn

Queen of Peace Center
Offers shelter for single women, pregnant women, and women with children. Emphasis is on treating women with substance abuse problems. Several locations in St. Louis City, each serving a specific population.
Soulard Shelter
Shelter for men. 711 Allen Ave. St. Louis, MO 63104.
St. Louis City/County Emergency Shelter Hotline
The Hotline is a centralized intake and referral system that can be accessed by calling a single number: 314-802-5444. The caller is interviewed by an intake specialist, and if in crisis, is referred to either emergency shelter or rent/mortgage/utility assistance. The Hotline is the result of a collaboration between the City of Saint Louis and Saint Louis County, who jointly fund the program. Hearing or Speech Impaired may call RelayMO 711 or 800-735-2966.
St. Louis Housing Authority
St. Louis Housing Authority works to provide a stable future for individuals and families with access to safe, affordable housing. 314-531-0184.
St. Martha's Hall
Provides resources for abused women and their children including a shelter. Location not given for safety reasons.
Sunshine Ministries
Offers a variety of ministries for men, women, and children including a shelter for men. 1315 Howard St. St. Louis, MO 63106.
Women's Safe House
Emergency shelter for women and their children who are victims of domestic violence. Location not given for safety reasons.

Holy Angels Shelter

County Homeless Programs
