He is the longest serving president. He served for over 12 years, and after he left office, the 22nd amendment was ratified. It stated that no one would ever be elected president more than twice. 

He contracted polio at age 39 and was paralyzed from the waist down. The Secret Service made sure that the media never photographed him in his wheelchair.

He was the first president to fly in an airplane while in office.

Died: April 12, 1945, Warm Springs, Georgia
